La Consola
Mission Control
San Juan Sound is the proud owner of a restored V Series Neve analog console with a stunning history still being written. The studio, months from opening, survived one of the strongest recorded hurricanes and a four months blackout. When power returned to the island, the center section and 24 channels were recapped by the SJS teching crew with legendary techs John Musgrave and Norman Druce at the helm. The desk is now a glorious ``V24`` with the left buckets modified to enable easy access to the Sony JH24 remote, a second monitor, and other convenient bells and whistles such as a phone line which only calls the local pizza parlor.

The Resurrection
THE TECHING CREW
One of the many San Juan Sound miracles involved four of the most renown Neve technicians in the world beginning with valuable phone support from Gregory Davis, and John Klett, the latter being the last ace to recap the console. Next up was a visit from power supply hero Norman Druce, founder of the revolutionary Atomic Insturment Co. whose power supplies and speakers are featured in some of the worlds finest studios such as Nashville's Easy Eye ad Detroit's Third Man Records. The final piece to our Neve puzzle was when Norman introduced studio owner Matteo Burr to John Musgrave who drank the SJS kool aid and flew to Puerto Rico in May to bring the board back from the dead! The full story will be coming soon via our SJS Tech Blog, including video from the Neveships crane voyage from a second floor home studio to our second floor command center!
